Design Summary
This is an electromagnetic driven fully closed shutter made of aluminum alloy, with four metal blades that swing to a 28mm aperture when powered at 3.8V. Shutter speed is 30-50ms, with stable torque and strong seismic resistance.
Why all metal: Plastic housing and metal blades expand at different speeds. All metal blades and housing are conducive to maintaining stable operation in high temperature environments, and the blades are not easily deformed or burned out. Thus effectively solving the problem of light leakage.
Why four blades: Compared to a single blade design, the four blades geometry reduces the sweeping radius required for complete closure. This allows for larger apertures in a smaller housing – with a 28 millimeter aperture inside a 53 millimeter housing. The blade material is carbon tool steel, which has high hardness and wear resistance, and can work at temperatures exceeding 200 ℃ to 250 ℃
Applications
Infrared NUC Calibration The 28mm aperture accommodates 1280×1024 and large 640×512 detectors. The all-metal blade surface provides a thermally uniform dark reference — no hot spots from plastic components in the calibration frame.
Optical Path Switching Four-blade geometry with metal-on-metal stops delivers consistent aperture coverage cycle after cycle. Position repeatability holds across the rated life.
